Another great snack for a party, or a quick snack for the kids.
Ingredients
- 1 potato chopped large peeled
- 1 apple chopped peeled small
- 1 onion chopped large
- 2 bacon rashers chopped
- 1 egg lightly beaten
- 500 g beef mince
- 250 g sausage beef mince
- 1 tsp curry powder
- 1/2 tsp ground ginger
- 1/2 tsp mustard powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tbs Worcestershire sauce
- 1 cup oil
- 1 cup tomato sauce *to serve
- 1 tbs fresh mixed herbs *to decorate
Method

Step 1Combine potato, apple and onion in a pan; barely cover with cold water. Bring to boil; simmer until tender, removing lid towards the end of cooking time so most of the water evaporates. Drain and mash.

Step 2Combine mash, bacon, egg, minces, seasonings and sauce in a bowl. With wet hands, roll tablespoonsful of mixture into balls.

Step 3Shallow fry meatballs in hot oil in a pan until golden and cooked through. Drain on absorbent paper.

Step 4Serve with tomato sauce and garnish with fresh herbs.
Recipe Notes
You can also serve them with mustard or sweet and sour sauce.
