One of the most common reasons our users have trouble logging in, is that they need to tweak their internet settings. You can easily do this yourself:

  1. In your internet settings, you must accept/allow third party cookies. This will appear as a check box in the settings.
  2. Ensure that pop-ups are not blocked – this should also be in your settings.
  3. Clear your cache/history – this is also in your settings.

If you still cannot log in after confirming your internet settings please email us. We may need to re-verify your account. When you email us, please:

  1. Confirm that you have cleared your cookies
  2. And share your account details – your username and email address

I used to have an account on Australia’s Best Recipes & now I receive a “Email is Invalid” error every time I attempt to log in. What should I do?

Best Recipes website underwent some upgrades to our platform. Accounts that were active within the last 12 months were migrated to a new platform. If you did not log into your account within the last 12 months, you’ll need to reset your password and if that doesn’t work, then you’ll need to check your email address and ensure its the email associated to your account. If you don not remember your old email address, you’ll need to create a new account.

IMPORTANT: have you ever had another email address?

Sometimes when people get in touch with login issues, we cannot find a membership associated with the email address they’ve contacted us on. If you’ve ever used another email address, it’s worth checking if you can login using that email address (the address itself doesn’t need to still be accessible for you to use it to log in).

To check if your email address is linked to a Best recipes  account:

  1. You can select ‘Forgot my password’ and enter your email address.
  2. If you have a Best recipes  membership account, you will receive a password reset email (please check your spam folder).
  3. If you don’t receive a password reset email, you will need to sign up/register rather than log in.

I tried to login using a social media account and it’s not working.

If you have an email account registered and try to login with a social media account using the same email, our registration system will need to link these accounts. You should be prompted to log in to your original email account to do this. The screen looks like this:

  1. Once logged in to your email, these accounts will be linked.
  2. If your original email account was set up on bestrecipes.com.au or Best recipes .com.au, try using the password set up for that account.
  3. If all else fails, try resetting your original email password via the reset password link.
  4. Then, login with your social account and input the new password on the linking screen.

Can I register without a social media account?

You can log in or sign up to Best recipes .com.au using an email address and password.

How do I create a new account?

  1. Desktop: Locate the Sign up button in the top right hand corner of the Best recipes .com.au website.
  2. Mobile: Locate the person icon and click on it
  3. Fill in your details
  4. Click sign up


How do I login to my account?

  1. Locate the login button in the top right hand corner of the Best recipes .com.au website.
  2. Enter the email address and password you used when you subscribed

My existing password isn’t working. What should I do?

  1. Reset your password from the login screen, click on “Forgot your password”
  2. Check your email address and ensure that it’s valid
  3. Check your spam folder
  4. If you did not receive the email, please email us.

I forgot my password, how do I reset it?

  1. Go to the website and locate the ‘Login’ button in the top right-hand corner of your screen
  2. If you are unsure of your password click on forgot your password.
  3. You will then receive an email from News Pty Ltd to set a new password. If you haven’t received a reset password email after a few minutes please check your spam or junk folder for this email.
  4. Follow the prompts to set a new password

I didn’t receive a forgot password email? What should I do?

  1. Ensure you’ve used your current email address
  2. Check your spam folder
  3. If you did not receive the email, please email us.

How can I change my password from my account page?

  1. Go to the website and locate the ‘Login’ button in the top right-hand corner of your screen
  2. Click on ‘My Account’ by clicking on the drop down menu next to your name.
  3. Select ‘My Profile’ from the menu on the left-hand side
  4. In the login details section, click on ‘Edit’
  5. Enter your existing password
  6. Enter your new password
  7. Click ‘Save Changes’’

What is My Account & why am I seeing new menu items? Payment details, payment history…

My Account is the new Best recipes .com.au portal to manage your profile, newsletters and content preferences online.

How do I change my display name for commenting?

Navigate to the My Profile section once you’ve logged into your account. This will display your details and you can select “Edit” to make any changes.

How do I update my profile?

  1. Go to the website and locate the ‘Login’ button in the top right-hand corner of your screen
  2. Click on My Account by clicking on the drop down menu next to your name.
  3. Select ‘My Profile’ from the menu on the left-hand side
  4. In the login details section, click on ‘Edit’
  5. Update your details
  6. Click “Save Changes”

How do I change my display name for commenting?

6. Click ‘Save Changes’

7. You will receive a confirmation email

8. Click on the verification link and confirm your verification code from your email

You will need to verify your identity once you have received the email with the verification link.

Am I able to still receive Best recipes .com.au newsletters without joining Best recipes ?

No, you will need to sign up to the website in order to receive the newsletter. 

Where can I find my cookbooks?

  1. Locate your member profile from the top right hand corner of the Best recipes .com.au website
  2. Click on My Cookbooks

I have logged into my account & I have located ‘My Cookbooks” but my cookbooks are not there. What should I do?

  1. Please ensure you’ve logged in with the correct email address
  2. If you still are unable to see them, Please email us.

How do I save recipes to my cookbook?

In order to save and view your cookbook, you have to be logged into Best recipes .com.au.

  1. Locate your member profile from the top right hand corner of the Best recipes .com.au website
  2. Locate the “Save Recipe” Button on the recipe page – under the recipe image
  3. Our cookbook allows you to create customisable categories for you to save your favourite recipes in.
  4. In order for the site to run at optimal speed, each Best recipes  account has the ability to create and save 50 cookbooks, with 100 recipes in each.

How do I unsubscribe from newsletters?

  1. Locate your member profile from the top right hand corner of the website
  2. Click on Edit Profile
  3. From the left hand navigation click on Newsletters or from the main screen click on Manage my Newsletters
  4. From the newsletter screen, click on the unsubscribe button below the newsletter you want to unsubscribe from.

Are my details safe?

We do not sell, share, or provide your IP Details, Cookies, Personal Information and Location Data to others other than in accordance with our Privacy Policy or where we are required to do so by law.

Check that your browser is up to date and your ad blocker is disabled.

HOW DO I SAVE A RECIPE?  

Every recipe on the site can be saved and organised into personal collections of folders in your own recipe book. To save a recipe, just select the “Save Recipe” button, located underneath the recipe name. You will then be able to select an existing recipe book or save it into a new cookbook.

HOW DO I CREATE A NEW FOLDER IN MY RECIPE BOOK?

Only when saving a recipe will you be able to create a new cookbook. You can then edit the cookbook name at any time by clicking on the edit button (looks like a pencil) within your cookbook and re-naming the folder.

HOW DO I DELETE A COOKBOOK OR RECIPE IN MY COOKBOOK?

A trash can icon is located on the bottom corner of all cookbooks, or recipes in a cookbook. On selection, you will be prompted to remove the item.

WHERE DO I FIND RECIPES I’VE SAVED?

You must be logged in to access your cookbook/s. Once logged in, select the orange love heart in the navigation bar or select ‘My cookbooks’ in the mobile menu.

HOW DO I PRINT A RECIPE?

To print a recipe, simply go to the recipe you would like to print and select the printer icon located underneath the image. You can also find the printer icon underneath the reviews. Please note you cannot print from your mobile phone.

HOW DO I UPLOAD ONE OF MY RECIPES?

HOW DO I SEARCH FOR RECIPES?

Select the magnifying glass icon in the top right hand corner. You can then search by ingredient,  type of dish, cuisine or any keyword. The search results will return with the most relevant recipes, galleries, collections and articles. You can also filter the search results by viewing recipes only and viewing only recipes with a photo.

WHAT DO THE $ SIGNS ON RECIPES MEAN?

$ – If a recipe is assigned one dollar sign, this means the dish is considered affordable and can feature pantry staples like canned goods, grains and mince.

$$ – A two dollar sign recipe can use more than 10 ingredients and use ingredients like lamb, nuts or berries.

$$$ – Recipes with three dollar signs are on the more expensive scale and can often mean they will serve a large number of people. They may contain seafood like seafood, premium cuts of meat or large quantities of ingredients.

HOW DO I MAKE A COMMENT ON A RECIPE OR ARTICLE?

Only members are able to review and comment on recipes and articles. The review/comments section appears at the bottom of each recipe and article page. You can leave a review or comment with what you thought of the recipe, any changes you made or any tips you have. We ask that our home cooks be polite and factual when sharing their opinions. Our editorial team reserve the right to remove or edit comments that breach our Terms & Conditions.

WHAT IS A TOP REVIEWER AND HOW DO I BECOME ONE?

Top Reviewers are passionate and enthusiastic home cooks who earn this distinction by sharing their knowledge and opinion of recipes on Australia’s Best Recipes. The Top Reviewer badge is a small symbol that sits next to your username so whenever you rate and review a recipe, our community will recognise your high achievement as a valued contributor of the site.

When you make at least 10 helpful comments on any Australia’s Best Recipe recipes, you will automatically be elevated to Top Reviewer status.

WHERE DO I FIND THE LATEST REVIEWS?

You can find all the latest reviewed recipes from Australia’s Best Recipes on the homepage (at the top) or on recipe pages (at the bottom) within a scrolling carousel.

HOW DO I EDIT A RECIPE THAT I HAVE SHARED?

If you’d like to make changes to a recipe that you have submitted, you can send an email to team at bestrecipesadmin@news.com.au. Please include your username, the recipe name, the URL of the recipe and the details of changes you would like made.

HOW DO I ADD A PHOTO TO A RECIPE?

Made one of our dishes? We’d love to see them. To add a photo to a recipe, click on the “Upload photo” icon that’s located on a recipe page, underneath the recipe name. For more details, check out our How to upload a recipe photo guide.

Newsletter subscriptions

HOW DO I OPT IN TO THE AUSTRALIA’S BEST RECIPES NEWSLETTERS?

Please login to your account and follow the below steps.

  1. Click on ‘edit profile’
  2. In ‘edit details’, click on ‘Update your newsletter subscriptions.’ This will take you to a new page where you can select which newsletter to opt into.
  3. Check box ‘Best Recipes weekly newsletter’
  4. Click on ‘subscribe selected email newsletter’ button (blue)
  5. You should then receive the newsletter to your account email address, which go out every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

HOW DO I UNSUBSCRIBE FROM THE NEWSLETTER?

Please scroll to the bottom of the newsletter and click on the ‘unsubscribe’ link. You will be redirected to a page which specifies that you are now unsubscribed.
