Great for a party snack.
Ingredients
- 340 g plain flour
- 115 g butter brought to room temperature
- 250 g cream cheese brought to room temperature
Filling
- 3 tbs butter
- 1 onion large
- 225 g mushrooms finely chopped
- 1/4 tsp dried thyme
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper *to taste
- 2 tbs plain flour
- 1/4 cup sour cream
Method

Step 1Thoroughly mix cream cheese and butter together. Add flour and blend until smooth.

Step 2Chill for 30 minutes and then roll dough to 3 mm thickness. Cut into 75 mm rounds.

Step 3Filling: In a saucepan heat the butter, add onion and lightly brown. Add mushrooms and cook, stirring for 3 minutes.

Step 4Stir in sour cream and other ingredients. Cook gently until thick, stirring constantly.

Step 5Place teaspoon of filling on each pastry round then press edges together with fork and prick the crusts on top.

Step 6Baste with a little butter. Place on lightly greased oven trays and bake until light brown, about 15-20 minutes at 190C.
