A firm, moist cake with a subtle taste. If you like white chocolate and bananas this is the cake for you. Very pleasing to the taste buds.
Ingredients
- 250g butter
- 250g CADBURY Baking White Chocolate Melts
- 150 ml hot water
- 1 cup caster sugar
- 1 3/4 cups plain flour
- 1 cup self-raising flour
- 1 tsp vanilla essence
- 2 eggs
- 4 bananas mashed
Method

Step 1Preheat oven to 150C.

Step 2Melt chocolate and margarine in microwave for 1-2 minutes.

Step 3Add water and sugar, stir and put in microwave until sugar has dissolved. Set aside to cool.

Step 4Line and grease the base and sides of a cake pan.

Step 5Mash bananas, eggs and vanilla together in a separate bowl until it has a paste-like consistency.

Step 6When cool add sifted flours to the chocolate mixture. Add the egg and banana and mix well, using a whisk.

Step 7Pour into prepared pan and cook for approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour, depending on size of tin.

Step 8Cake is cooked when skewer comes out clean and the sides should be a light golden color.
Recipe Notes
I always check my cakes after 45 minutes and add time if needed.
Ice with white chocolate icing or cream cheese icing.

To make icing: We used 250g cream cheese, chopped, ⅓ cup (55g) icing (confectioner’s) sugar mixture, sifted and white chocolate shavings, to serve.
Method: Place the cream cheese and sugar in an electric mixer and beat for 5 minutes. Scraping down the sides of the bowl occasionally. Spread on top of the cake and top with white chocolate shavings to serve.
