Ingredients

  • 250 g currants
  • 250 g sultanas
  • 250 g apple
  • 120 g mixed peel
  • 250 g suet shredded
  • 1/2 tsp mixed spice
  • 1 lemon rind grated juiced
  • 250 g dark brown sugar
  • 60 g almonds chopped
  • 4 tsp brandy

Method

  • Step 1
    Chop fruit together with the suet. Add remaining ingredients and mix thoroughly.
  • Step 2
    Leave covered in a large bowl for a week, stirring every day.
  • Step 3
    Place into jars and cover.
  • Step 4
    Keep for a few weeks and stir before using.

  • 4 glass jar with lid
