Using just three ingredients (including a store-bought cake), the kids will love these no-bake cake balls.
Ingredients
- 600g iced white chocolate mud cake
- 400g CADBURY Baking White Chocolate Block, chopped
- Hundreds & thousands, to sprinkle
Method
-
Step 1Line a large baking tray with baking paper. Use your hands to break the mud cake into small pieces (including the icing) until coarsely crumbed. Roll one tbs of the mixture firmly into a ball. Transfer to the prepared tray. Repeat with the remaining mixture to make 24 balls.
-
Step 2Place the chocolate in a heatproof bowl over a saucepan of simmering water (make sure the base of the bowl doesn't touch the water). Stir until chocolate has melted. Remove the bowl from the pan.
-
Step 3Spread hundreds and thousands on a plate. Working one at a time, use two forks to dip a ball into the melted chocolate. Allow excess chocolate to drain back into the bowl before rolling in the hundreds and thousands. Return to the tray. Set aside for 20 minutes or until set.
Recipe Notes
Can I use other types of cake to make these cake balls?
Yes, you can certainly experiment with other types of cakes and flavours. We've tested this using white chocolate mud cake, and have found the dense mud cake to be an ideal texture for rolling into balls (rather than something more crumbly!). For Christmas time, you could also try these fruit ball truffles using store-bought fruit cake.
