Ingredients

  • 250 g butter softened
  • 1/4 cup treacle
  • 2 cup plain flour
  • 2 cup walnuts finely chopped
  • 1 cup icing sugar sifted

Method

  • Step 1
    Mix butter on medium speed in a mixing bowl for 30 seconds. Add treacle and beat until fluffy.
  • Step 2
    Add flour to butter mixture, beating at low speed until well blended. Stir in nuts.
  • Step 3
    Shape level tablespoons of the dough, into 25 mm balls. Place on ungreased baking trays.
  • Step 4
    Bake at 160C for 20 minutes. Remove to wire rack to cool completely.
  • Step 5
    Gently roll biscuits in icing sugar to coat.

  • 1 bowl
  • 2 baking tray
  • 1 wire rack
Recipe Notes
Store in airtight container. Roll again in icing sugar just before serving, if desired. Use butter or margarine.
