Nice to give as a Christmas present in an airtight jar.
Ingredients
- 250 g butter softened
- 1/4 cup treacle
- 2 cup plain flour
- 2 cup walnuts finely chopped
- 1 cup icing sugar sifted
Method

Step 1Mix butter on medium speed in a mixing bowl for 30 seconds. Add treacle and beat until fluffy.

Step 2Add flour to butter mixture, beating at low speed until well blended. Stir in nuts.

Step 3Shape level tablespoons of the dough, into 25 mm balls. Place on ungreased baking trays.

Step 4Bake at 160C for 20 minutes. Remove to wire rack to cool completely.

Step 5Gently roll biscuits in icing sugar to coat.

- 2 baking tray
- 1 wire rack
Recipe Notes
Store in airtight container. Roll again in icing sugar just before serving, if desired. Use butter or margarine.
