My friend made me this dish last year in Sweden. These simple meatballs are served with a creamy sauce and is on the table in just 30 minutes.
Ingredients
Meatballs
- 1/2kg mince
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 1/2 onion minced
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp allspice
Sauce
- 2 cups beef stock
- 3 tbs butter
- 3 tbs flour
- 1 tbs Dijon mustard
- 1 splash Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 cup cream
Method

Step 1Soak breadcrumbs in milk. Add the mince, egg, onion, nutmeg and allspice and mix, shaping into small meatballs.

Step 2Cook in an oven for 180C until brown and cooked through.

Step 3Meanwhile to make the sauce, cook off the butter and flour on the stovetop. Slowly add the stock and cream, and whisk constantly until thickened.

Step 4Add mustard and Worcestershire sauce. Serve over cooked meatballs.
Recipe Notes
Serve this with creamy mash potatoes, green beans and cranberry sauce.
You can use beef mince, pork mince or a mixture of both.
