Ingredients

  • 500 g mince
  • 1 tbs olive oil
  • 680 ml passata
  • 680 ml water
  • 1 tbs tomato paste
  • 2 chillis finely chopped mild
  • 3 garlic cloves thinly sliced
  • 400 g spaghetti
  • 1 handful baby spinach *to serve
  • 1 handful cheese grated *to serve

Method

  • Step 1
    Place mince meat, chillies, garlic and oil in a non-stick deep frypan and stir fry until meat is brown.
  • Step 2
    Add passata sauce, water and stir in tomato paste, then simmer on low heat until sauce thickens for about an hour.
  • Step 3
    After 30 minutes, cook spaghetti as per packet directions, then drain and add to thickened sauce.
  • Step 4
    Stir sauce through spaghetti and top with chopped baby spinach leaves, or grated cheese to serve.
