Just like my mum made many years ago, economical and tastes great!
Ingredients
- 500 g lamb roast, cold
- 3 cups mashed potato
- 1/2 tsp mixed herbs
- 1/2 cup tomato sauce
- 1 onion
Method

Step 1Boil potatoes and mash as usual. ( I use a little less milk, so it stays firm).

Step 2Place meat and onion in a food processor and blend until minced.

Step 3Add herbs and tomato sauce to meat and stir to combine.

Step 4Put meat into an oven proof dish and cover with the mash. Run a fork over the top to make ridges and then dot with butter.

Step 5Place in 200C oven for around 30 minutes.
Recipe Notes
I often place the pie under the grill to give it that golden top.
Grated cheese is also a topping option.
I serve with a side of greens and carrot.
