Name a more iconic Australian biscuit than the Tim Tam… I’ll wait. The Tim Tam has become more than just a chocolate biscuit for Aussie families. These days, it’s a way of life, a national pride, and a go-to treat for pretty much any time of the day.

We love this Tim Tam slice because it’s easy to make, the perfect amount of sweet, and customisable so you can mix it up with your favourite Tim Tam flavours on the top.

How to make our Tim Tam slice: key tips

I prefer there to be chunks of visible Tim Tams throughout the slice, so don’t chop the biscuits up too finely. Personally, I like to make this slice the day before so that it has lots of time to set overnight.

What goes into our Tim Tam slice recipe?

It’ll come as absolutely no surprise to you that this recipe has sugar, butter, and a bit more sugar. That’s what makes it so DELISH! We love the addition of sweetened condensed milk into this Tim Tam slice recipe as well - it’s a lovely and luscious base. Of course, it would be criminal not to mention the Tim Tams as well. We like using white chocolate Tim Tams on the top as they look fantastic.

In case you’re wondering, there’s a million different ways you can use a Tim Tam. In fact, you could have a whole Tim Tam party if you were so inclined! Check out some of our favourite Tim Tam recipes: Tim Tam mug cake, Tim Tam stuffed brownies, and to wash it all down you can’t go past our Tim Tam milkshake.

  • 395g can sweetened condensed milk
  • 100g dark chocolate melts
  • 1 pkt (200g) Tim Tam white chocolate biscuits

Method

  • Step 1
Grease and line an 18cm x 28cm slice tin with baking paper, allowing it to overhang the sides.
  • Step 2
In a food processor, blitz one packet of Tim Tam chocolate biscuits into a fine crumb. Add melted butter and blitz to combine.
  • Step 3
Pour condensed milk into a bowl and add Tim Tam butter mixture. Stir to combine.
  • Step 4
Roughly chop remaining two packets of Tim Tam chocolate biscuits and add to condensed milk mixture. Fold to combine. Pour into prepared tin and press into an even layer.
  • Step 5
Melt dark chocolate in short bursts in the microwave. Pour over slice in tin and spread into a smooth layer. Roughly chop Tim Tam white chocolate biscuits and sprinkle over the melted chocolate. Refrigerate for at least an hour to set completely.
  • Step 6
Cut into small squares or bars to serve. Store uneaten slice in the fridge.
Recipe Notes

Can I use other flavours of Tim Tam in this recipe?

You can use any flavour of Tim Tam on the top of the slice. We love white chocolate, but it’s completely up to you. We also quite like using dark chocolate mint for a refreshing zest on top.

How long can I store the Tim Tam slice in the fridge?

You can store this slice in the fridge for up to 5 days, but let me personally guarantee you that it won’t last that long if you’ve got a family of snackers like mine.
