This hearty curry casserole is full of flavour (but not too much spice)! It is mild enough for the whole family to enjoy.
Ingredients
- 1kg beef blade steak cubed
- 2 tbs plain flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tbs oil
- 2 carrot large sliced
- 4 celery ribs sliced
- 1 onion large chopped
- 2 apples sliced
- 2 tsp curry powder
- 1 tbs lemon juice
- 440g tomato soup
- 1 1/2 cups water
- 2 tbs golden syrup
Method

Step 1Preheat oven to 180C.

Step 2Combine salt and flour in a bowl.

Step 3Toss meat in combined flour and salt.

Step 4Heat the oil in frying pan over high heat. Brown the meat in several batches.

Step 5Place the browned meat into a greased casserole dish. Use a casserole dish with a lid.

Step 6Brown the carrots, celery, onion and apples in the pan, then transfer to the casserole dish with the meat.

Step 7Combine the remaining ingredients in a jug. Pour over meat and vegetables.

Step 8Cover and place in the oven. Cook for 2 hours or until the meat is tender.

Serve with rice for a very filling meal, they'll be back for more –if they can fit it in!
