Nice but not too spicy, great with your favourite dish or on a sandwich.
Ingredients
- 9 mango chopped large peeled
- 3 onion chopped small
- 4 chilli deseeded finely chopped
- 4 mustard seeds
- 4 tsp celery seed
- 2 mixed fruit
- 4 tsp fresh ginger chopped
- 4 cloves garlic crushed
- 4 tsp salt
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp nutmeg
- 1 tsp allspice
- 1 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1 1/3 cup malt vinegar
- 1 1/3 cup lemon juice
Method

Step 1Tie mustard and celery seeds in a muslin bag.

Step 2Combine all ingredients,in a large bowl, cover and allow to stand overnight.

Step 3Place mixture in a large saucepan, boil steadily for 30 minutes or until it thickens.

Step 4Remove muslin bag, pour chutney into hot sterilised jars and seal immediately.

Recipe Notes
You can add a tablespoon of cornflour mixed in a little water if chutney is not thick enough. Mixture makes approximately 8 large jars. Peel and chop mangoes into small pieces and use mixed fruit with peel.
