Sandy's Mince and Rice Ole'

An easily prepared recipe given to me by my friend Sandy, developed from a well known brand of rice in South Africa. - KAYKAY11

Ingredients

  • 250 g beef mince
  • 1 cup cheese grated
  • 3/4 cup onion chopped
  • 3 cup water
  • 1/2 cup rice uncooked
  • 140 g tomato paste
  • 1/2 cup sweet chilli sauce
  • 1 beef stock cube crumbled

Method

  • Step 1
    Brown mince and onions. Add all other ingredients, except the cheese.
  • Step 2
    Bring to the boil and simmer for ½ hour until rice is cooked. If necessary, add a little more water.
  • Step 3
    Add grated cheese and stir in well. Simmer for a further few minutes to blend well.
  • Step 4
    Serve with a fresh green salad.
Recipe Notes
I added a dash of cayenne.
