A family favourite for over 20 years, cooked in the electric frypan. Freezes and re-heats well.
Ingredients
- 2 tbs oil
- 1 kg beef mince
- 1 1/2 cup macaroni uncooked
- 2 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 cup red wine
- 425 g can condensed tomato soup
- 35 g French onion instant soup
- 1/2 tsp basil
- 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
Method
-
Step 1Saute mince in oil, breaking down mince as it cooks.
-
Step 2When browned, drain off any remaining oil, add macaroni or pasta, water, wine, undiluted tomato soup, French onion soup, pepper and basil.
-
Step 3Bring to boil, cover and simmer for 30 minutes, stirring often to prevent sticking.
-
Step 4Serve with Parmesan cheese, green salad and garlic bread.
Recipe Notes
Pasta can be of any type - penne, shell, twists. I often add mushrooms and garlic with the soups and pasta. Use topside mince and salt reduced French onion soup.
