Ingredients

  • 2 tbs oil
  • 1 kg beef mince
  • 1 1/2 cup macaroni uncooked
  • 2 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup red wine
  • 425 g can condensed tomato soup
  • 35 g French onion instant soup
  • 1/2 tsp basil
  • 1/2 tsp ground black pepper

Method

  • Step 1
    Saute mince in oil, breaking down mince as it cooks.
  • Step 2
    When browned, drain off any remaining oil, add macaroni or pasta, water, wine, undiluted tomato soup, French onion soup, pepper and basil.
  • Step 3
    Bring to boil, cover and simmer for 30 minutes, stirring often to prevent sticking.
  • Step 4
    Serve with Parmesan cheese, green salad and garlic bread.
Recipe Notes
Pasta can be of any type - penne, shell, twists. I often add mushrooms and garlic with the soups and pasta. Use topside mince and salt reduced French onion soup.
