Ingredients

  • 2 sheets pastry
  • 6 slices ham (deli) diced
  • 1 onion sliced
  • 3 eggs beaten
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1/4 tsp salt and pepper
  • 1 1/2 cups cheese shredded
  • 1 tbs plain flour

Method

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 165C.
  • Step 2
    Fry bacon/ham and onion until well done. Set aside.

  • Step 3
    In a large bowl, mix together milk, salt and eggs. Stir in bacon and onion.
  • Step 4
    In a separate bowl, toss cheese and flour together, and then add to egg mixture. Be sure to mix well.
  • Step 5
    Grease a 24 cm pie dish and line with pastry. Pour egg mixture into pie crust.
  • Step 6
    Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a knife inserted in centre of quiche comes out clean.
  • Step 7
    Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.

Recipe Notes

Bacon can also be used.

If necessary, cover edge of crust with foil while baking to prevent burning or over browning.
