Sausage rolls made with potatoes makes them nice and soft. Never make with sausages alone.

Ingredients

  • 500 g sausage beef mince
  • 3 potatoes cooked mashed
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 1 carrot grated
  • 1 pinch mixed herbs
  • 1 pinch salt and pepper *to taste
  • 1/2 tsp curry powder *to taste
  • 1 handful parsley chopped optional
  • 1 packet shortcrust pastry

Method

  • Step 1
    Mix ingredients together with clean hands.
    Potato and Mince Rolls
  • Step 2
    Cut pastry into 3 strips.
  • Step 3
    Spread a row of mince along the pastry strip.
  • Step 4
    Dampen edge with water and roll up to close.
  • Step 5
    Repeat with remaining mix and pastry.
  • Step 6
    Cut rolls to size and bake at 160C until golden brown.
Recipe Notes

You can use shortcrust or puff pastry.

Sprinkle pastry with sesame seeds if desired.

This recipe is easy to adapt, so add whatever vegetables or spices you like.
