This slice is scrumptious. A sweet treat which I have made many times and it has been a favourite with family and friends for a long time now.
Ingredients
- 1 1/4 cups plain flour
- 125 g butter softened
- 3/4 cup brown sugar firmly packed
- 1/2 cup rolled oats
Filling
- 2 eggs
- 1/4 cup golden syrup
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1 cup pecans chopped
- 1 tsp vanilla essence
- 1 tbs plain flour
Method

Step 1Grease a shallow 23 cm square pan.

Step 2Sift flour, rub in butter.

Step 3Add brown sugar and oats.

Step 4Press mixture into prepared pan.

Step 5Bake at 180C for 15 minutes or until pale brown.

Step 6Combine ingredients and pour onto hot base.

Step 7Return to oven for 15 minutes or until filling sets.

Step 8Cool in pan and cut into bars when cold.
