Great tasting, filling, creamy chicken dish. An easy to cook, one pan dinner.
Ingredients
- 30 g butter
- 1 tbs oil
- 1 onion chopped
- 1 garlic clove crushed
- 500 g (fillets) chicken thighs
- 1/2 cup plain flour
- 45 g French onion soup mix
- 2 tsp French mustard
- 2 tsp paprika
- 3/4 cup rice rinsed
- 2 cup water
- 2 tbs toasted slivered almonds
- 190 g canned mushroom drained
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 2 tbs parsley fresh
Method

Step 1Heat butter and oil in a pan, add onion and garlic, cook, stirring until onion is soft

Step 2Cut chicken into 2 cm cubes, toss in flour.

Step 3Add chicken to pan with onion mixture, cook, stirring for 5 minutes.

Step 4Add soup mix, mustard, paprika rice and water.

Step 5Simmer, covered, 15 minutes stirring occasionally.

Step 6Just before serving, add almonds, champignons and sour cream to chicken, heat without boiling. Sprinkle with parsley
Recipe Notes
I tend not to put in the almonds as I don't really like them. I use chicken breast sometimes.
