This gooey, rich, chocolatey Nutella bread and butter pudding is everything you want in a dessert. Try stopping at one serve.
Ingredients
- 500g loaf sliced brioche
- 200g Nutella
- 4 eggs
- 300ml cream
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 1 tsp vanilla essence
- 2 tbsp caster sugar
Method
-
Step 1Preheat oven to 180C. Grease a medium-size oven-proof baking dish.
-
Step 2Cut brioche slices in half diagonally and stack vertically in baking dish. Drizzle most of the Nutella onto the brioche, making sure it gets down in between the slices.
-
Step 3In a bowl, whisk together eggs, cream, milk, vanilla and sugar. Pour over brioche, ensuring it is completely soaked in the egg mixture.
-
Step 4Bake for 35 minutes. While it is still warm, drizzle over remaining Nutella. Slice into squares and serve with cream or vanilla ice-cream.
Recipe Notes
- You can use regular white sliced bread instead of brioche. Increase the sugar in the egg mixture to 1/4 cup.
- I used a 20cm square baking dish.
