Ingredients

  • 500g loaf sliced brioche
  • 200g Nutella
  • 4 eggs
  • 300ml cream
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence
  • 2 tbsp caster sugar

Method

  • Step 1
Preheat oven to 180C. Grease a medium-size oven-proof baking dish.
  • Step 2
Cut brioche slices in half diagonally and stack vertically in baking dish. Drizzle most of the Nutella onto the brioche, making sure it gets down in between the slices.
  • Step 3
In a bowl, whisk together eggs, cream, milk, vanilla and sugar. Pour over brioche, ensuring it is completely soaked in the egg mixture.
  • Step 4
Bake for 35 minutes. While it is still warm, drizzle over remaining Nutella. Slice into squares and serve with cream or vanilla ice-cream.
Recipe Notes
  • You can use regular white sliced bread instead of brioche. Increase the sugar in the egg mixture to 1/4 cup.
  • I used a 20cm square baking dish.
