A mild curry mince traditionally served in South Africa to sustain crews of land workers. We have adapted it Aussie style into a damper and find it great for a barbeque starter for all to share. - bigmona

Ingredients

  • 500 g beef mince
  • 1 damper bread large
  • 375 g Cheese & Tomato Pasta Bake
  • 2 tbs curry powder
  • 1/2 cup cheese grated

Method

  • Step 1
    Brown mince in a little oil. Add curry powder.
  • Step 2
    Stir in pasta bake sauce, simmer until thick.
  • Step 3
    Cut a large square hole in the top of the damper and fill with the mince.
  • Step 4
    Sprinkle grated cheese over and bake at 190C until cheese melts.

Equipment

  • 1 knife
  • 1 baking tray
Recipe Notes
Serve on a large platter and place the bread cut from the top (torn up) around the sides. The mince can be prepared the day before and added to the damper reheated. Use pasta bake sauce of choice.
