Ingredients

  • 480 g butter softened
  • 600 g sugar
  • 6 egg large
  • 560 g plain flour
  • 180 ml milk
  • 1 tsp almond essence
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence

Method

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 140C.
  • Step 2
    Beat butter until creamy.
  • Step 3
    Add sugar and beat until light and fluffy then add eggs, one at a time.
  • Step 4
    Add flour, alternating with milk, beginning and ending with flour then add essences.
  • Step 5
    Pour into a greased and floured tube or Bundt pan.
  • Step 6
    Bake for 1 hour 40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean.
  • Step 7
    Cool in pan for 15 minutes.
  • Step 8
    Remove from pan and cool completely on a wire rack.
