Meatballs in a rich tomato sauce.

Ingredients

  • 500 g lean beef mince
  • 1/2 cup dried breadcrumbs
  • 1 tbs soy sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic minced
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbs parsley finely chopped
  • 1 tbs tomato sauce
  • 600 g pasta *to serve

Sauce

  • 400 g canned diced tomato
  • 600 g pasta sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic minced
  • 1 tbs brown sugar
  • 1 tsp chicken stock (liquid)
  • 1 onion diced

Method

  • Step 1
    Combine the meat, egg, soy sauce, tomato sauce, garlic, breadcrumbs and parsley by hand. Roll into 5 cm balls.
  • Step 2
    Mix all sauce ingredients together and place in frypan.
  • Step 3
    Add meatballs, cover and cook on high heat for 12 minutes.
  • Step 4
    Tilt lid and lower heat, leave to cook a further hour.
  • Step 5
    Serve with grated cheese and pasta.
