Ingredients

  • 1 cob loaf
  • 340 g canned crab drained
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 4 spring onion thinly sliced
  • 1 tbs Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp garlic salt
  • 1/4 cup parmesan cheese finely grated
  • 250 g cream cheese softened
  • 1/4 cup thickened cream
  • 1 tbs dijon mustard
  • 2 drops Tabasco
  • 1 pinch salt and pepper *to taste

Method

  • Step 1
    Cut the top off the cob loaf, remove bread inside leaving a 2 cm thick shell.
  • Step 2
    Warm bread pieces in oven on low.
  • Step 3
    Combine crab meat, cream cheese, mayonnaise, cream, onions, mustard, sauces and garlic salt in a medium bowl, season and mix well.

  • Step 4
    Remove bread pieces from oven.
  • Step 5
    Spoon mixture into cob loaf and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
  • Step 6
    Cook, uncovered, at 180C for approximately 35 minutes or until top is golden brown.
Recipe Notes

Serve with warmed bread as a dipping tool and break the cob apart as you eat. Instead of Worcestershire sauce I used black sauce.
