This is very popular in Europe in summer time, because it's quick and easy forlunch or dinner. This is from my mother and all my family love it. - Mirka

Ingredients

  • 500 g edam cheese
  • 1 cup plain flour
  • 2 egg whisked
  • 2 cup dried breadcrumbs
  • 70 ml milk
  • 1 cup olive oil
  • 2 cup mashed potato
  • 2 cup Greek salad

Method

  • Step 1
    Cut the edam cheese in slices 1 cm thick. Put the cheese in a bowl with cold water and then shake off and cover with plain flour,eggs and breadcrumbs. Put the breaded cheese into the freezer for a few minutes before frying.
  • Step 2
    Heat olive oil in a large frying pan over medium high heat. Fry cheese on both sides until golden brown.
  • Step 3
    Serve the cheese with mashed potato and Greek salad.

Recipe Notes
Keep fried cheese in round food thermos until you are ready to serve.
