This is a yummy cake and if you have a family of 5 like me, it will be gone in the next few days. I hope you enjoy making it and eating it. - Baker-Betty08

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups self-raising flour
  • 3 tbs cocoa powder
  • 1 cup caster sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence
  • 1 tbs white vinegar
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil

Icing

  • 1 cup icing sugar
  • 1 1/2 tbs cocoa
  • 1 tbs butter

Method

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 180C and grease and flour a 20 cm tin.
  • Step 2
    Put flour, cocoa, sugar and water in a bowl.
  • Step 3
    Also add vanilla, vinegar and oil and mix together with a whisk.
  • Step 4
    When smooth, pour it into tin and bake for 35 to 40 minutes.
  • Step 5
    Cool for 10 minutes before removing from tin.
  • Step 6
    Icing: Add all ingredients to a small bowl. Pour a small amount of hot water into the bowl and mix.
  • Step 7
    When smooth, spread over cake.

Equipment

  • 1 20cm round cake pan
Recipe Notes

If you have kids, you can buy sprinkles and decorations for them to put on the cake. It's a family fun cake!
