This is a yummy cake and if you have a family of 5 like me, it will be gone in the next few days. I hope you enjoy making it and eating it.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups self-raising flour
- 3 tbs cocoa powder
- 1 cup caster sugar
- 1 cup water
- 1 tsp vanilla essence
- 1 tbs white vinegar
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
Icing
- 1 cup icing sugar
- 1 1/2 tbs cocoa
- 1 tbs butter
Method

Step 1Preheat oven to 180C and grease and flour a 20 cm tin.

Step 2Put flour, cocoa, sugar and water in a bowl.

Step 3Also add vanilla, vinegar and oil and mix together with a whisk.

Step 4When smooth, pour it into tin and bake for 35 to 40 minutes.

Step 5Cool for 10 minutes before removing from tin.

Step 6Icing: Add all ingredients to a small bowl. Pour a small amount of hot water into the bowl and mix.

Step 7When smooth, spread over cake.

- 1 20cm round cake pan
Recipe Notes
If you have kids, you can buy sprinkles and decorations for them to put on the cake. It's a family fun cake!
