A very different, but yummy tasting cabbage.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 kg red cabbage thinly sliced
- 3 tbs white vinegar
- 2 Granny Smith apples chopped cored peeled
- 1 1/2 tbs sugar
- 1 tsp ground cloves
- 1 pinch salt and pepper *to taste
- 30 g butter
- 1 1/2 tbs cornflour
Method

Step 1Cook cabbage in little water, salt, cloves and apples.

Step 2Bring to boil then stew for 45 minutes or until cooked to taste.

Step 3Mix in the butter, vinegar, sugar, salt and pepper to taste. Sprinkle in the cornflour, stirring all the time.

Step 4Simmer for 10 minutes, stirring often.
Recipe Notes
Adjust the vinegar, sugar and cornflour to taste.
This goes well with European meatballs and boiled potatoes. You can also serve it with mashed potatoes.
