Ingredients

  • 500 g green split peas
  • 1 onion diced
  • 500 g bacon bones
  • 4 potato cubed
  • 5 carrot chopped
  • 1 L water

Method

  • Step 1
    Place ingredients into a slow cooker or pot, and cover with water.
  • Step 2
    Cook for 5-6 hours in slow cooker, stirring once, or simmer for 2 hours on the stove, stirring every half hour.
  • Step 3
    Remove meat from the bacon bones and return to the slow cooker or pot.
  • Step 4
    Cook for a further 1 hour or until vegetables are soft, then season to taste and serve.
