Delicious and even better, sugar-free, these date and sultana oat biscuits will be a hit with the kids and have them asking for more!
Ingredients
- 120 g medjool dates
- 1 egg lightly beaten
- 1 tsp vanilla essence
- 80 g butter
- 50 g wholemeal plain flour
- 50 g plain flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 pinch salt
- 100 g quick oats
- 1 tbs milk
- 1/2 cup sultanas
Method

Step 1Preheat oven to 180C.

Step 2Finely chop date flesh, preferrably using a food processor until almost smooth. Combine dates to a large bowl with egg, vanilla and softened butter and mix well with a wooden spoon.

Step 3Add sifted flours and baking powder, salt, oats and sultanas to bowl and mix well. Stir in milk.

Step 4Either using moistened hands or a couple of teaspoons, shape into walnut sized balls, place on baking tray lined with paper and flatten slightly with the back of a fork.

Step 5Bake for 10-15 minutes until just brown around the edges. Cool on a wire rack.
