A dentist's dream.
Ingredients
- 2 cups plain flour
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 cup Coca Cola
- 3 tbs cocoa
- 1 tbs butter
- 1 tsp vanilla essence
- 1 tsp bicarbonate of soda
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 tsp lemon juice
- 2 egg
Icing
- 1/2 cup icing sugar
- 3 tbs cocoa
- 6 tbs Coca Cola
- 100 g butter softened
- 1 tsp vanilla essence
- 1 cup mixed nuts optional
Method

Step 1Add milk and lemon together and let stand for 5 minutes.

Step 2Mix flour and sugar together in a bowl.

Step 3Gently heat coke, cocoa and butter in a saucepan (use a double boiler).

Step 4Pour over flour and sugar, mix and beat well.

Step 5Add milk mixture, eggs, bicarbonate of soda and vanilla. Mix well.

Step 6Bake in a 22 x 33 cm tin at 175C for around 1 hour.

Step 7Icing: Mix coke, cocoa and butter.

Step 8Heat over a double boiler.

Step 9Mix in icing sugar and vanilla beat well.

Step 10Add nuts if desired.

Step 11Spread icing over the cake.
