This chocolate buttercream icing is a light and fluffy frosting recipe that is unbelievably decadent. It's smooth, shiny and creamy that is perfect for cakes, cupcakes, macaroons and more.
Ingredients
- 125 g soft butter
- 1 cup icing sugar sifted
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder sifted
- 2 tbs milk
- 1 tbs vanilla essence
Method

Step 1Cream butter, icing sugar and cocoa together in mixing bowl.

Step 2Add milk and vanilla essence.

Step 3Beat until fluffy, approximately 5-10 minutes.
Recipe Notes
For plain chocolate frosting, leave out the vanilla essence. Does need a fair amount of beating but worth it as it gets really light and fluffy.
