Chocolate upon chocolate. Chocolate biscuit pretzels covered in dark chocolate and then sprinkled with your choice of topping. Definitely a favourite in our house!
Ingredients
- 1 cup self-raising flour
- 1 tbs cocoa
- 30 g butter
- 1/4 cup caster sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 tbs milk
- 180 g dark chocolate
Method
-
Step 1Preheat oven to 180 degrees.
-
Step 2Sift flour and cocoa in a medium bowl. Rub in butter to resemble breadcrumbs.
-
Step 3In a small saucepan place the milk and caster sugar. Place over low heat and stir until sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat and cool for 5 minutes.
-
Step 4Add egg and warm milk mixture into flour mixture and stir until it forms a soft dough. Turn out on to a lightly floured benchtop and knead dough until smooth.
-
Step 5Get an approximately 15g ball of mixture and roll out to a 20cm sausage. Draw the two ends of the sausage up and cross over to form a pretzel shape. Repeat for remaining mixture.
-
Step 6Place pretzels on a greased baking tray. Bake in preheated oven for 15 minutes. Remove from oven and cool.
-
Step 7Once biscuits are cooled, melt chocolate in the microwave. Dip each biscuit into the melted chocolate and then drain slightly. Place them on a lined baking tray. Sprinkle with your choice of topping and place in the fridge to set.

Recipe Notes
Our favourite topping is 100's and 1000's.
I also sprinkle with salt flakes, chopped nuts and drizzle with the opposite colour chocolate.
