Hamburgers with a difference. Mixture makes a large amount using only a small amount of meat. You will always make them once you have tried them. My mum always made them for all our large family barbecues.
Ingredients
- 500 g lean beef mince
- 2 bacon rashers
- 2 cups self-raising flour
- 3 eggs
- 1 tsp curry powder
- 2 celery sticks chopped optional
- 2 cups cabbage finely shredded
- 1 onion chopped
- 1 tsp soy sauce
- 1 pinch salt and pepper
Method
-
Step 1Place all ingredients into a large bowl and mix well.
-
Step 2Form into patties.
-
Step 3Cook in a frying pan or on barbecue.
Recipe Notes
Use minced steak, chicken or pork.
Mixture shouldn't be frozen. I have found that the cabbage doesn't freeze too well, it goes watery and the flavour is not as nice.
These can be served hot or cold.
