Hamburgers with a difference. Mixture makes a large amount using only a small amount of meat. You will always make them once you have tried them. My mum always made them for all our large family barbecues. - munwill

Ingredients

  • 500 g lean beef mince
  • 2 bacon rashers
  • 2 cups self-raising flour
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tsp curry powder
  • 2 celery sticks chopped optional
  • 2 cups cabbage finely shredded
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • 1 pinch salt and pepper

Method

  • Step 1
    Place all ingredients into a large bowl and mix well.

  • Step 2
    Form into patties.
  • Step 3
    Cook in a frying pan or on barbecue.
Recipe Notes

Use minced steak, chicken or pork.

Mixture shouldn't be frozen. I have found that the cabbage doesn't freeze too well, it goes watery and the flavour is not as nice.

These can be served hot or cold.
