Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup margarine
  • 2 tbs golden syrup
  • 395 g condensed milk
  • 1/3 cup cashews optional

Method

  • Step 1
    Add sugar, margarine and golden syrup to a saucepan.
  • Step 2
    Stir over low heat until dissolved.
  • Step 3
    Add condensed milk. Bring to boil, then lower heat.
  • Step 4
    Stir with a wooden spoon until mixture turns a deep golden caramel colour and has thickened.
  • Step 5
    Stir in cashew nuts and pour into a greased tray. Allow to cool.
Recipe Notes
I use Nestle brand condensed milk.
