Something delicious to have for morning tea. Everyone will be sure to ask you for the recipe.
Ingredients
- 1 egg
- 1 banana mashed ripe
- 1/4 cup buttermilk
- 2 cups self-raising flour
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/3 cup soft butter
- 1/4 cup pecans chopped optional
Method

Step 1Beat the egg with a fork and add to the mashed banana.

Step 2Mix in buttermilk.

Step 3Add flour to form a slightly firm dough (add more milk if required).

Step 4Roll dough into a 25 x 30 cm rectangle.

Step 5Combine brown sugar and butter together by hand and spread over the dough.

Step 6Sprinkle with chopped pecan nuts if desired.

Step 7Roll dough up, lengthways, to make a sausage shape.

Step 8Cut into 2 cm slices and place cut side up, and side by side into a greased round tin.

Step 9Bake at 180C for approximately 30 minutes.
