Always popular and so easy to make, this Weet-Bix slice recipe is a great way to involve the kids in the kitchen. Let them crush up the Weet-Bix for the base and pour on the icing after it’s baked. - Kidspot Kitchen

Ingredients

  • 4 Weet-Bix crushed
  • 1 cup plain flour
  • 1/2 cup coconut
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tbs cocoa
  • 70 g butter
  • 1/4 cup water

Method

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 180C (160C fan-forced). Melt butter and mix into crushed Weet-Bix.
  • Step 2
    Add remaining ingredients and stir to combine.
  • Step 3
    Line a square cake tin with baking paper. Press Weet-Bix mixture into the base. Bake for 15 minutes.
  • Step 4
    To make icing, sift icing sugar into a bowl. Add milk gradually, stirring, until you have a smooth, spreadable consistency. Pour icing over slice in tin. Spread to cover completely. Allow to set. Slice.
Recipe Notes

You can sprinkle coconut or 100s & 1000s on top for an extra delicious treat!

You could add cocoa powder to the icing to make chocolate icing.
