A very yummy dessert or to have with a cup of tea.
Ingredients
- 55 g butter room temperature
- 170 g caster sugar
- 1 egg room temperature
- 125 ml milk
- 225 g plain flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 285 g mixed berries fresh
Topping
- 115 g sugar
- 45 g plain flour
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 55 g butter chopped
Method

Step 1Preheat oven to 190C and grease a 23 x 23 cm baking dish.

Step 2Using an electric mixer, cream butter with sugar until light and fluffy.

Step 3Add egg, beat to combine, then mix in the milk until blended.

Step 4Sift over the flour, baking powder salt and stir just enough to blend the ingredients.

Step 5Add berries and stir. Pour into baking dish.

Step 6Topping: Place the sugar, flour and butter in a mixing bowl. Mix until the mixture resembles coarse breadcrumbs.

Step 7Sprinkle the topping over the mixture in the baking dish.

Step 8Bake for about 45 minutes or until a skewer comes out clean when inserted.

Step 9Serve hot or cold.
