Ingredients

  • 2 cup milk
  • 30 g yeast
  • 6 egg
  • 3 1/2 cup plain flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 30 g butter melted

Method

  • Step 1
Warm ½ cup of the milk in a bowl, and dissolve the yeast in it.
  • Step 2
Beat the eggs with the rest of the milk.
  • Step 3
Put the flour in a warmed bowl, and make a well in the centre. Pour in the yeast mixture, and the egg mixture. Beat until the batter is smooth and free of lumps. Put aside in a warm, draft-free cupboard for 2 hours, to allow the yeast to develop.
  • Step 4
Stir in the sugar, salt and melted butter.
  • Step 5
Cook waffles in a well-greased waffle iron.
Recipe Notes
Serve with jam and syrup, ice cream and sugar or fruit and ice cream. You can use an electric waffle maker as well.
