Ingredients

  • 3 cups bread flour
  • 3 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 can beer
  • 1 water
  • 1/2 cup white blue cheese grated

Method

  • Step 1
    Mix the flour, baking powder, salt and beer in a large bowl until well combined.
  • Step 2
    Pour mixture into a large 12 x 21cm non-stick or well greased loaf tin, or two 8 x 15cm tins. Sprinkle the top with grated cheese.
  • Step 3
    Bake at 200C, large loaf for 50-60 minutes, smaller loaves for 30-40 minutes, until golden brown.
  • Step 4
    Turn out and cool on a wire rack before slicing.

Equipment

  • 1 loaf pan
Recipe Notes

Beer and water need to equal 400ml. Do not use low-alcohol beer in this recipe. This bread keeps well and also makes excellent toast. I love this bread with soups and also with BBQs, makes a nice change to a damper.
