Ingredients

  • 375 ml beer cold
  • 1/4 cup cornflour
  • 1/2 cup plain flour
  • 1/2 cup self-raising flour
  • 1/2 tsp pepper *to taste
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt *to taste

Method

  • Step 1
    Sift all dry ingredients together.
    Beer batter
  • Step 2
    Add enough beer to achieve a batter consistency.
  • Step 3
    Mix together with a hand whisk.
  • Step 4
    Let stand for approximately 10 minutes.
  • Step 5
    Dip flour dusted fish fillets into batter, then into hot oil.
