This is an alternative way of serving hamburgers. Very simple to make.
Ingredients
- 2 tbs oil
- 450 g lean beef mince
- 1 onion thinly sliced
- 1/4 cup tomato sauce
- 1/4 tsp garlic salt
- 1/4 tsp pepper
- 3/4 cup canned cream of mushroom soup
Pastry
- 2 1/2 cup plain flour
- 2 tbs baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp curry powder
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/3 cup milk
Method

Step 1Preheat oven to 205c.

Step 2In a frying pan, heat oil and saute mince with onion and pour off excess fat.

Step 3Add tomato sauce, garlic, salt and pepper and cream of mushroom soup.

Step 4Stand to cool, then place in fridge to cool further.

Step 5In a large bowl, combine pastry ingredients, knead and roll pastry into a 30 cm square.

Step 6Spoon meat mixture onto pastry square, roll and press with fingers to seal. Slice into 8 pieces, 4 cm thick.

Step 7In a well greased, round baking dish, arrange 7 wheels in a circle and place one in the middle.

Step 8Cook in oven for 20-25 minutes and serve hot, coated with brown gravy or mushroom sauce.
Recipe Notes
You can also use chicken, ham, bacon or ingredients of your choice.
