A quick and easy dessert recipe that's sure to impress your family and friends.
Ingredients
- 1/3 cup brown sugar firmly packed
- 40 g butter cold finely chopped
- 3 bananas halved lengthways
- 1 sheets puff pastry partially thawed
- 1 egg whites
- 1 tbs caster sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 cup macadamias
- 125 g vanilla ice cream *to serve

Step 1Preheat oven to 220C/200C fan-forced. Grease a 6cm deep, 20cm round (base) cake pan. Line base with baking paper. Line a baking tray with baking paper.

Step 2Sprinkle brown sugar over base of prepared pan. Dot with butter. Arrange banana over top, trimming to fit. Cut a 22cm circle from pastry. Place over banana, tucking in edges around banana. Bake for 20 minutes or until golden and puffed.

Step 3Meanwhile, whisk egg white, sugar and cinnamon in a bowl. Add macadamias. Toss to coat. Spread onto prepared tray. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, or until golden. Roughly chop.

Step 4Place a serving plate with sides on top of pan, then carefully invert tarte onto plate. Sprinkle with macadamias. Serve with ice cream.

Recipe Notes
Add the macadamias to the oven halfway through the cooking time.
