There’s never been a greater party food than sausage rolls, so I’ve given this classic recipe a cool new twist with a serve of baked bean goodness in every bite.
Ingredients
- 300g Heinz Baked Beanz can
- 1/4 onion, finely chopped
- 2 bacon rashers, chopped, fried, cooled
- 1/3 cup cheese, grated
- 1/2 tsp smoky paprika
- 2 sheets frozen puff pastry, thawed
- 1 egg whisked
- 1 splash of milk
Method

Step 1Preheat oven to 200C.

Step 2Fry chopped bacon and cool.

Step 3Roughly mash beans, then add onion, bacon, cheese and paprika, and mix to combine.

Step 4Add a splash of milk to the egg and whisk.

Step 5Lay a sheet of puff pastry out and cut in half. Spoon 1/4 of the mixture down one side, then brush the non-filling side with the egg wash. Roll over into a sausage shape, seam side down. Cut into fours. Repeat with the remaining pastry.

Step 6Brush tops with egg wash and place on a baking sheet to bake in the oven for 10 - 15 minutes.
