Method
-
Step 1Measure ingredients into a large bowl, in the order listed.

Step 4Turn pancake when bubbles break in the middle of the pancake. Cook until the middle springs back when pressed with a finger.
-
Step 5Serve with a little butter and maple syrup.
Recipe Notes
How do I make my pancakes fluffy?
One of the most common mistakes when making pancakes is when you overbeat the mixture. This causes the gluten in the flour to over-develop, which will make your pancakes chewy instead of light and fluffy. Mix lightly with a whisk until just combined and then you're ready to go!
What should I serve with American pancakes?
American pancakes are traditionally served with maple syrup and butter, but other ideas include berries and yoghurt or ice-cream, bacon and maple syrup, or banana and honey.
