Stir-Fried Tofu and Vegetables with Kecap Manis

Ingredients

  • 2 tbs peanut oil
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 5 cm ginger minced
  • 2 cloves garlic clove minced
  • 250 g firm tofu cut into matchsticks
  • 1 carrot cut into matchsticks medium
  • 1 capsicum
  • 100 g green beans topped
  • 4 tbs kecap manis
  • 1/2 tsp salt and pepper
  • 1 coriander

Method

  • Step 1
    Wrap the tofu in paper towel and press to remove any moisture.
  • Step 2
    Heat oil in wok, add garlic, ginger and onion and stir-fry for 1-2 minutes.
  • Step 3
    Add tofu and vegetables and continue stir-frying for a few minutes longer, making sure the vegetables are crisp.
  • Step 4
    Add kecap manis, salt and pepper. Taste and adjust seasonings if necessary.
  • Step 5
    Cook until heated through.
  • Step 6
    Serve with chopped coriander and rice or noodles.

  • 1 wok
Recipe Notes
I prefer the ABC brand of kecap manis sedang as it's not as sweet as the plain kecap manis.
