An old favourite.
Ingredients
- 1 cup plain flour
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 3/4 cup coconut
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 140 g butter
- 1 tbs golden syrup
- 3 tbs boiling water
- 1 tsp bicarbonate of soda
Method

Step 1Sift flour into a bowl.

Step 2Add rolled oats, coconut and sugar.

Step 3Melt butter in a saucepan, add syrup and water.

Step 4Add bicarbonate of soda, allow to foam and pour immediately into dry ingredients.

Step 5Mix well, then take small pieces of mixture and press out thinly on greased trays, allowing space between each for spreading.

Step 6Bake at 150C until golden brown.
