Christmas might be over, but Woolworths has started the new year with a gift for the masses: Caramilk hot cross buns.
According to the Woolies website, their “indulgent Caramilk hot cross buns are made with Cadbury Caramilk chips” – which means they’ll get super oozy when toasted. They suggest that you “enjoy them just as they are, or lightly toasted with a spread of your choice”.
You can buy a 4-pack of hot cross buns for just $4.50, for a limited time only.
Caramilk hot cross bun churros
If a toasted Caramilk hot cross bun wasn’t enough to make your taste buds tingle, the supermarket has now also released a recipe to help you turn them into churros!
Simply cut your hot cross buns into fingers, brush with butter and bake until golden, then toss in cinnamon sugar and serve with a melted Caramilk sauce for dunking.
Other new hot cross buns at Woolworths
Woolies has also brought back their traditional range of hot cross buns (including fruitless, fruit and mini-sized), along with a Cadbury milk chocolate variety. 2022 also brings new brioche hot cross buns (filled with Cadbury choc chips) and the return of last year’s Apple & Cinnamon versions. They also have gluten free fruit, fruitless and chocolate 4-packs available.
