Ingredients

  • 250g butter
  • 250g CADBURY Baking White Chocolate Block
  • 200ml water
  • 1 1/2 cups caster sugar
  • 1 3/4 cups plain flour
  • 1 cup self-raising flour
  • 2 eggs lightly beaten
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence

Icing

  • 125g butter
  • 125g CADBURY Baking White Chocolate Block
  • 3/4 cup icing sugar

Method

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 150C.
  • Step 2
    Cake: Heat butter, sugar, chocolate and water in a saucepan and stir over low heat until well combined.
  • Step 3
    Sift both flours together and blend into chocolate mixture.

  • Step 4
    Stir in eggs, sour cream and vanilla.
  • Step 5
    Pour the mixture into a deep 20cm pan and cook for approximately 1-2 hours depending on your oven.
  • Step 6
    Icing: Cream together the butter and icing sugar, then add melted chocolate.
  • Step 7
    Spread icing over the cake.

Equipment

  • 1 20cm springform pan
Recipe Notes

The icing makes enough to cover the sides and top of one big cake. If the icing gets too hard when spreading, microwave it for a few seconds.

Instead of sour cream you could use thickened cream, yoghurt or condensed milk, this just adds to the moistness of the cake.

Also great with white chocolate ganache.
