Ingredients

  • 125 g butter
  • 3/4 cup caster sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla essence
  • 1 tbs golden syrup
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 1/4 cups plain flour
  • 1/4 cup white choc bits
  • 1/2 cup dry roasted macadamias chopped
  • 1 tbs water
  • 1/4 tsp bicarbonate of soda

Method

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven 180C.
  • Step 2
    Cream together butter, sugar, salt, vanilla and golden syrup.
  • Step 3
    Sift in flour and mix.
  • Step 4
    Add bicarbonate of soda to water then add to mix.
  • Step 5
    Add choc bits and nuts and mix well.
  • Step 6
    Roll teaspoonfuls into balls then slightly flatten when placed on the tray.
  • Step 7
    Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Step 8
    Leave to cool on tray.
