An easy, meatless chow mein that is full of flavour.
Ingredients
- 1 tbs oil
- 1 tbs butter
- 1 onion chopped
- 1/4 cabbage shredded
- 1 carrot grated
- 2 tsp Massel* chicken stock powder
- 2 tsp curry powder
- 3 cups water
- 170 g Maggi 2-minute noodles crushed
- 1/2 cup frozen peas and corn
- 1/2 tsp salt and pepper optional *to taste

Method

Step 1Sauté the onion in the oil and butter for several minutes.

Step 2Add the cabbage, carrot, stock and curry powders, and the water.

Step 3Bring to the boil, cover and simmer for 10 minutes.

Step 4Add the noodles and peas and corn. Discard noodle flavour sachets. Simmer for a further 5-10 minutes, stirring regularly, until the cabbage and noodles are cooked and most of the liquid has evaporated.

Step 5Add salt and pepper, if using.
